Can you recommend software for Video iPod?

Ok, I have had Macs for a few years now, started on an eMac, now also have two PowerBooks and an Intel iMac.

But now I have a new pressie, an iPod Nano with video! Cool!

But can someone recommend what software I should get which will enable me to transfer video to the iPod, regardless of the original video format?

Does the latest version of Toast have such facilities, or should I be looking at something else?

i think handbrake does that kind of stuff....check it out...its freeware and got a lot of good reviews
