can't bring stickies to the foreground

i have a 15 inch powerbook, running 10.5.2. there are a bunch of stickies i have written which i can only see when i go to my "expose corner." they are definitely there. but when i click on the stickies application in the dock, they do not come to the foreground. and i am not able to select them in expose mode.
what's going on?
is it possible i have multiple finders in play?

Stickies: Window > Bring all to Front. Perhaps they will recall themselves easier once they are placed on top. Mine come to the front when I click on the dock icon.

Finder: With the finder open, File > New File Window. Or just hit Command-N for the keyboard shortcut.

when i click on the stickies application, and then go to Window - my 'invisible' stickies are there in the list. but when i select them nothing happens....
any idea how to delete those invisible stickies???
