lost a document, is there a recovery tool??

I accidently deleted something very importnat of my desktop this month, is there a way I can recover it of my harddrive some how? like a recovery tool? any help would be appreciated.

The demo mode allows you to search and see if the file is recoverable. Actually, if it is just one file you might be able to use it for free.

I don't know what your setup is, but it you have or don't have Leopard, you may want to consider getting it and using Time Machine. This kind of situation is basically what it's designed for. Don't count on it for a full system recovery though.
