hi,

i'm wondering does Mac OS X came with an equivalent to Microsoft Word? I'm getting a MBP for going off to university in the fall and I will need something to type out my essays in. IF THERE IS would you recommend it or should I invest in iWorks '08??
QUOTE Thanks

Actually you have a choice - you could either use iWorks 08 or you could download NeoOffice (free). NeoOffice is Open Office for Mac. I use both and they are both very good. iWork also has a trial version you can try to see if you will like it. That will give you a month to try both to see which one best fits your needs.

Neo is rather out dated but you get what you pay for. I personally love i work, great templates and export works well for when a teacher request an electronic version. But you also have the choice to go with office 08 which is actually rather nice with some surprisingly mac-ish style hints. But i have had and all at some point( currently i use office and iwork)
QUOTE Thanks
