Aqua version of OpenOffice.org

A beta version of OpenOffice that doesn't require X11 has just become available for download.

OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X

Though I guess NeoOffice is still the choice for many as it looks more like a Mac application than OpenOffice

Mac Specs: Mid '08 MacBook Pro
I'd call it an Alpha release.
Very long bug list
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/bugl...?keywords=aqua

The Beta version is due out at the end of 2007 according to the current timeline:
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/timeline.html

Other reports:
No printing
Cut and paste is not fully functional
It crashes frequently

Stick to Neo Office for the time being if you want Office software that works.

I already own MS Office, so I already have Office Software that works!. Most of those bugs are not a big deal for me, it'd be nice to play with it just to see how it looks/works.

Most people looking for Free Office software do not have enough $$$$ for MS Office.

I agree. $149 isn't bad for a good Office suite.

OpenOffice and NeoOffice are nice, but I just don't like them. That's my personal opinion, as I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who love their free office suites
