Dashboard on the fritz
Dashboard has decided in the last few days that it cannot connect outside my home network. So I can see the TiVo, but weather apps, etc. won't update. Parental controls aren't on, nor is the firewall. External access through mail, Safari, etc. works with no issues.
Any idea what might cause that? Upgraded to SL tonight, hoping that might restore things, but no love. I need my doggone weather radar and starry night!

Thanks. I'll check that this afternoon when I get home. Odd that it started with just the Weather Channel widget not working, and now none of the widgets that have to reach back out to the internet can seem to find their servers.

Still no love. And I note that the RSS feed in Mac Mail isn't working either, but offers no info as to why or how to fix. Hmmm. Nor does software update. What could be blocking these java(??) apps?

As it turned out, something somewhere had activated the http proxy on my Mac and those bits on the system wanting to access thru it could not, including widgets, safari, software update, and RSS in Mac Mail. It took about 30 min with a nice chap from Apple to sort it out, but all is well now. Woo hoo!
