I have my 15 Gb of music which I stream from my external hard disk and play using iTunes.
About a couple of months ago, I realised one song was corrupt. At the corrupted part, iTunes just stop playing. Some players (not Windows Media Player) on Windows just skip over it. I thought it was a problem with the file.
A few days ago, I noticed 2 more songs are corrupted. These 2 songs were fine before.
I am open to any suggestion any of you might have and any possible solution to that.
Sounds like you're starting to have an issue with bad sectors on the hard drive.
I'd suggest booting up from your original install disc, go to the menu and run the repair disk option.
Boot up with your disc inserted, hold down the 'C' key until you see the gray Apple screen.
Select your Language
On the menu bar go to Utilities - Disk Utility
Select your drive on the left side
Then run Repair Disk on the FirstAid tab.
If it found any problems run it again, until it finds no problems.
I'd suggest going ahead and also run the Repair Permissions while you're there.
While your drive is selected, also check the bottom and see if it displays 'Smart Status' as verified or it is reporting a problem with the drive.

Very different as Disk Utility can not repair a Volume that is in use like your main hard drive. There is no way Repair will work from within OSX.
Right. But my music is being streamed from an external hard disk. My internal hard disk, on which my OSes are, shows no sign of defects, assuming that it is a defect.
I think I must have glossed over the line in your first post that said the music was on an external drive.
I'd still suggest running the repair on the volume the music is sitting on.
And might as well do it on the OS volume while you're there as it can't hurt.

I just tried running Disk Utilities from my OS on the drive. For some reason, under the first aid tab, all the options are disabled. I will try running it from the CD later. I am lazy to restart
