Unhappy iTunes Installation Issues

I can't install iTunes 4.7 or 4.7.1 (currently running 4.6). I downloaded both installers from the apple site. The Select Destination screen shows that "Installing this software requires 0 bytes of space."; when I click Continue all of the packages are disabled, and have 0 byte sizes. The only option I have on the screen is Go Back.

I'm a recent (about 4 months ago) convert from windows, but I've haven't had any issues installing software. What am I doing wrong?

I have a G4 Desktop (with the blue front), its 400MHz/640MB RAM. I'm running OSX 10.3.8.

Have you tried just using the update function in the system preferences ?

You could also try deleting the old files first by typing iTunes in the search bar of a finder window. Make sure you don't delete the itunes folder in your music folder as that contains all your songs.
