Just FYI, in case there's any legal issue in that. Good guide, though. Kudos.

For my purposes as an engineering undergraduate; Windows is respectable (& generally necessary), Linux is admirable (& often useful), OS X is enjoyable (& requires no further justification, although plenty could be given)!

Excellent guide. Can't wait for part two. I have thought about setting this up for a while.The price of the server tools has always stopped me. I might try it now with Lion just to learn more about it.

You answered the question of whether I need a server setup. I don't.
