Creating MP3 Voice

I'm trying to record a voice track for use in a slideshow using my MacBook Pro. The voice must be in MP3 format. I tried garage band but it only creates AAC files. Can anyone tell me an easy way to create MP3 's of my narration>

Convert the AAC file in iTunes to mp3
