I searched the posts but nothing exactly what I wanted answered was there.

How do we convert mpeg4 songs into mp3's so that we can play them on our mp3 player?

I thought MP4 audio would play just fine...

You can use iTunes, quicktime pro, or ffmpegX to convert it.

Hey giulio,

what version of iTunes are you using, Because the one I am using It says AAC instead of MP3!

I was looking into that before but I couldn't find the answer.

Yah, my iTunes says "convert to AAC", too.

They are definitely songs, not video, and the file type (under finder) says mpeg4. Is mp4 short for mpeg4?

What's AAC, while we're at it?

Try ffmpegX.

How big is the file? I can try it for you.

it's only 3.7 MB. What's ffmpegX? I tried converting to AIFF (if that's what you meant). but it wont convert protected songs.
Anything I download from Acquistion works though. I was just sort of keen on actually PAYING for my songs from iTunes. I have an allowance set up and everything.

ffmpegX is a program that converts anything to anything else. Video and audio that is.

you can also burn a cd with the song. then import the cd as mp3. it would then be unprotected.
