Garageband 08 is not working!!!!

I recently purchased ilife '08 and everything works great. Except the new Garageband. It won't even open at all and just sits there "initializing" until it quits after a couple of seconds. I even tried erasing garageband using appzapper and then reinstalled a fresh copy. Still no worky! Any ideas please?
