I just got a new mac book for school use this fall. (my first mac)
I want to record music through a mic. I have bought a mic for the laptop, however I am not sure what program to use to record the voice in. I am pretty sure I plugged the mic into the correct port - right next to the headphone port. Any advice would be welcome. |

When recording, make sure you go to system preferences and set it up there to use your external microphone. Not all mics work equally well for me. As far as recording, try GarageBand. I think that is what has worked best for me. You can download Audacity but I have found that is not as stable on the Mac as it was in Linux or Windows.
