Sound Forge Style App for Mac
Hi everyone, newb here, I wanted to get opinions on sound editing applications for OS X such as Sound Forge (do they make Sound Forge for Mac?)

Currently I have Final Cut Express on my machine but I know this is mainly for video. What sound specific tools are out there for editing sounds? Say I get an MP3 and I want to reduce the bit rate to make it more web friendly.

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

I recommend Ableton Live 6...you can edit plus much more..even sync your music to video in real time. Check it out at www.ableton.com.

OK - I downloaded Audacity - cool app. How do I get the free LAME MP3 encoder to work?

The download provided does nothing. Any help is appreciated. I'm on an intel based Mac.
