Hi
I've just bought a MacBook and I love it! I've been using garage band alot and I've been told that I can plug my guitar straight into the MacBook (using a guitar lead and a Jack to Mini Jack adaptor). I followed the help files and went to 'System Preferences >> Sound' and set the import to 'Line In'. The imput level monitor showed that the Mac was picking up my guitar. Great. Then I opened up Garage Band, added a new real instument track and turned Monitor on. But when I started to play, the sound was picked up from the built in mic. How can I record sound directly from my guitar into Garage Band??? Thanks alot! Zacariem No excuse is sometimes a good enough one. |

go to the preferences for garage band (top left hand corner click garage band then preferenecs) and in there, is the settings which choose the input.
I beleive though that the input jack on macbooks is "linein" only which means it has no real amplification. To get any decent level or quality from it, you will need to use a preamp ~~ TS ~~ JEMDNA Photography - Clicky to see latest work “Punk is not dead.
