Hi,

I would like to convert a .ram file I downloaded to an mp3 format as it is more convenient to play...

What applications are good for this?

Thanks,

Jamie

You might want to read this MacOSXHints article, Convert Real audio and video into MP3 and AVI files.

I checked that out but it says "for .ra formats only", whereas I would like to convert a .ram format.

Thanks for the speedy reply though!!

RAM formats are video streams which work only with RealPlayer. They were encoded for live playback with RealPlayer. You need a way to download them to the computer as RM files, first. I couldnt find a way to do this, and I feel it's not possible either, because stuff that's encoded RAM is usually stuff someone has a copyright on and thus doesn't want to share.
