Why are all my Podcast Apps in iYunes store "unsubscribable"? (Greyed out)

I don't know what iYunes is, but in iTunes you need to be signed in.

Not sure what you mean by "podcast apps" either.

In iPad Store, there are iPad apps to be downloaded, some are free, for some you have to pay.

When you enter "podcasts" in the search-box of iStore, a large amount of Podcasts to which you should be able to subscribe.

Mine are all "greyed": I cannot subscribe to any, free or otherwise.

Nope. You're in the App Store, looking at apps that manage or facilitate podcasting or podcasts. You're not actually looking at podcasts.

You need to quit the App Store app, open the iTunes app and look for podcasts there. It's got its own section (button at the bottom), no need to search.
