Question Please advise a switcher on buying a sound card

I need to purchase a 5.1 surround sound card for my 1.8 GHz G5 powermac.

I am thinking about purchasing the following card:

http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...on51-main.html

Has anyone had any experiance with this card? if so your thoughts on this card would be appreiciated,I am a complete switcher and have been using a sound blaster audigy card on my pc before I started using Macs and require something with good surround sound.

If anyone thinks there is a better alternative then feel free to make a suggestion !!!!

Hey!

I haven't got any experience with this product specifically, but M-Audio's stuff is usually fairly solid.

Never used it... looks good - maybe I'll get one. Gotta be able to do 5.1 well in FCP...

I'm thinking about getting a surround sound card for my Power Mac around Christmas... that looks like a good one, and great price too

Hey I looked a little down the line and saw a similar thread about a laptop user who wanted the same thing, and he was suggested to go get
http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_g...usb+sound+card
This seems like a better deal to me. Anyone know what the difference is?

Why get a card if you have a G5? It has an optical out and does 5.1 now if you have a tuner.
