Hi,
I'd like to know how to create an iMac login that ONLY allow access to iTunes and my iTunes library. This would be for parties where I want to play music, but want all of my data, other programs, etc. unavailable. Can someone tell me how to do this? TIA! I'm running Snow Leopard.

create a new account, set up the priveleges for it as an admin, then point your library at the existing library.

Thank you so much for your reply! Duh: I can create an admin account, no problem. But how do I "point your library towards the existing library" and make iTunes the only program available under that login (perhaps the 2nd part of my question is redundant).

to make iTunes the only available program to open, you would need to use parental controls, and block use of any other apps on the new account, and disable administrator privileges on that account.

Then go into iTunes preferences (on the "party" account) and go along to the advanced tab. where it says "itunes media folder location" change this to wherever your current Library is. you may need to change the permissions on the folder for this to work.

(please do not say stuff like "Duh", I start with the basics, a lot of posters on here would not know how to do it or know what it was. )
