Just wondering if anybody knows of a solution to my little issue...
I have a bunch of mp3 files i want to add to itunes so i can put them on my ipod, but the trick is i don't want them to be in the "music". The reason being that it is audio files to help me learn a second language, i want them on my ipod but i don't want gaelic lessons coming on randomly when it's set to shuffle. I am almost sure there is a simple way but i can't find it.... sure i will kick myself when i find out. Thanks Last edited by bobtomay; 05-15-2010 at 09:40 AM. |

as far as I know there is no way to exclude songs from shuffle, it just shuffles all of your music
the way to go would be to make a playlist of all your songs, except those you don't want to shuffle - then, just play your new playlist (playlists don't copy songs, it just links to the file) |

right click the files in question and select Get Info head for the Options tab put a check next to Skip When Shuffling I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth. In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus. |

Select get into (or command-i) and in the pop-up window select the options tag. Under the media type menu you see select Audiobooks - there are other options, but this is the one I would recommend. Now your language lessons will appear in Audiobooks and not come up when you put your music on shuffle. This is what I do with some of the spoken word broadcasts I have on my pod |

That'll work also. I keep forgetting about that since I spent so much time the hard way in iTunes 7 getting my books moved to the Audiobooks folder. And still use Audiobooks Builder from time to time for creating chapter markers in them.
