hooking up stereo to imac

hi all im going to be getting an imac this week but will have no decent speakers gto use it on....what i wanna know is will i be able to hook up my sony stereo to the imac? how is this done? thanks

First, make sure the stereo has some sort of input jack(s). It can be an iPod input jack, AUX jacks on the back, etc. Then get the proper type of cable for the connection. If you plan on using the AUX mode on your stereo, you will need these.
