Transfer LE8

I have an MB with LE8 installed. I've just bought a 13" MBP and an LE9 upgrade pack. I need to transfer LE8 to the MBP and upgrade to LE9.
Can I:
save all my LE8 projects to an external HDD

use LE8 disc to uninstall LE8 from the MB,

install LE8 to the MBP,

upgrade to LE9

move LE8 projects onto MBP?

Will that work?

Sounds good. I can't see why that wouldn't work.
