    Specs:
    Black macBook, 2.4 ghz, 2Gb RAM,250Gb,
Cheap, portable USB audio interface for 13" MBP
Anyone used the ESI UGM96? Any good? I'm looking for something cheap and portable to make up for the loss of separate audio in/out on the 13" MBP.

    Specs:
    MacBook(3,1): C2D 2.2ghz, 4g RAM, 10.7.5; iMac(12,1): 2.5ghz i5, 16gb RAM, 10.9.1; iPhone5S iOS7.04
Not familiar with that unit...looks nifty, though.

If your emphasis is on cheapness, you might want to consider this:

    LightSnake

It's basically an instrument cable (instrument on one end -- both genders -- and USB cable on the other). I use it and like it a lot. However, I paid about $30 LESS at Target...

Hmm. Thanks for the recommendation, but the lightsnake seems to get some fairly mixed reviews.

The UGM96 is pretty much your best bet if you don't want to spend more than $100.
