    software to find key of drum samples
    anybody have any recommendations for software that I can use to find the key of samples - specifically drum samples

    preferably free but not essential

    I've actually had some luck with a standard guitar tuner, believe it or not. It's difficult for very short kicks or of course kicks where the pitch drops a lot.

    It doesn't matter what key you're in, percussion (with the exception of the piano) isn't broken down into different keys. They will fit all 12 keys equally well.
