This is PAINFUL! Whenever I import a folder of songs with the album artwork jpeg included -the artwork gets left behind. I see no way to select all the songs and drag the artwork in once, you have to drag the jpeg in one by one for every song, which can be hundreds. Can this not be avoided?
You can't import artwork with songs unless it's already encoded into the files.
However, you don't have to do it song by song either!
Highlight the album title, making sure no individual song is highlighted, and then drag the album art (you can drag all covers - front, back, inlays etc. - at the same time) into the album art window. This then encodes them into the files.
Or you can do a "get info" for the album and add the artwork in the box there, but the first method is easiest.

There are a cpl of apps out there too. I have amazon art widget, which pulls in album artwork from amazon on the song thats playing. Or TuneUpMedia is another but has a daily limit of how many you can import. The beauty of the latter is once on your system it is a automatic program once itunes is opened. It also will basically clean up your whole itunes collection, and if i remember correctly lyrics too if you are looking for them. The down fall is you cant use its preferences to not make it open when itunes does. You have to close the program down. So keep the .dmg somewhere.
