Download 9.0.1 itunes not working??? need help

Have had 2 attempts to download i tunes 9.0.1, when I try to install i get a message. The following warning "the following disc images couldn't be opened" Image/ iTunes9.0.1.dmg Reason/invalid cheksum

I also get a message that iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly.

This is on a new macbook pro running 10.6.1

Any suggestions???

Mac Specs: 15" MBP 2.33 C2D 256 4GB, MBA 13" i7 1.8, MB 2.0 2GB, Nano 4th, 3GS, iPad 1

That means it was not a good download - will need to do it again.

You might try here instead of Software Update

This is where I downloaded the file twice, I cant see that trying it again would do any different,

I am at a loss, but will try again

Then I would try from iTunes - select iTunes on the menu and then Check for updates.

Success, I had to trash all old itunes files then it worked fine 3rd time lucky,
