Mp3 file(s) instead of microphone input on OS X?

Hello,

I would like to use an mp3 file(s) instead of microphone input on OS X.
Is it possible to make tiger see an mp3 file with a particular name (say, file0001.mp3) as a "default microphone input", meaning that os x will see contents of an audio file as a mic input?
Thanks in advance!
