Are you using iTunes?

I was able to get iTunes to export my songs to MP3 format using the following steps:
In the Preferences dialog, bring up the Import Settings and choose MP3 encoder for Import Format.
Now you should be able to secondary click on any of the songs in your library and choose Create MP3 Version

yes, and itunes will convert m4a to mp3 quite easily. All you need to do is change the import type to mp3.. then you can do this.

I've been using iTunes to convert m4a to mp3 for years, but in the new iTunes 8.2 I can no longer find the import options in the preference menu, and right clicking only allows converting to AAC. Am I missing something? Any help out there?

I've done all the required settings on my Mac (iTunes10) and have converted the playlist from AAC to MP3, but when I want to burn the playlist to a CD, I get an error message saying some of the songs are not yet MP3 - how come?

Can someone please tell me what I've done wrong? I've selected the songs in the playlist, CTRL+Right click and then selected create MP3 version ... what ELSE?!

Thanks

I've made all the necessary adjustments but I want to convert existing tracks that are non-MP3 to MP3. How?
