Recording Voice on Garage Band

Argh! I posted a question below regarding using the 1/8" Audio In port on the side of my MacBook Pro. I'm going to research solutions to that problem. But until then, I'd like to use the internal mic to do "rough drafts" so to speak. So, why the heck won't Garage Band pick up my voice? The System Settings pick it up clear as a bell...but Garage Band pretends not to hear me. Any solutions? Is there a good online tutorial?

Never mind. I found the answer to my problem. For the record, in GarageBand:

GarageBand>Preferences>Audio/Midi change audio input to "Built-in Microphone" Yay!
