Due to the success of our previous seminar, Cherry Beach School of Music is now offering another day-long course focusing on the use of the new Logic Pro. This vast suite of music production software is used by many of today’s industry leaders: Herbie Hancock, T-Pain, Paul Van Dyk, Kanye West and Marcus Dravs. A multitude of award-winning and memorable albums have been recorded with Logic Pro such as: Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible, Coldplay’s Viva la Vida, Bjork’s Homogenic, and Snow Patrol’s Eyes Open. The day will be spent in Cherry Beach Sound, Canada’s strongest recording facility. This year, we have had the honor of producing more radio hits, platinum albums, and international billboard listings than any other studio in Canada.
Your classroom will be in our world-class Control Room A. Designed by the renowned Martin Pilchner, this space was created for absolute acoustical isolation and an ideal balanced mixing environment. This room is truly a Canadian one-of-a-kind as it is the only studio in the country to have soft fit-mounted Genelec surround monitors. This wonderful setting allows for an intimate and personal class of approximately twelve to fifteen students. Course duration will run from nine to five on Saturday, March 14th with a cost of $299 plus GST. Your day will be fully catered, courtesy of Cherry Beach Sound. For those attendees traveling notable distances, we will be happy to assist you in booking nearby accommodations.
The course will focus on the process of creating and capturing music with Logic Pro. An opportunity to gain valuable insight into the recording and editing of both audio and midi will be provided to students. Logic Pro possesses a large range of software instruments and Apple Loops that will be explored throughout the duration of the course.
Students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have regarding Logic Pro within the intimate classroom setting. The knowledge that will be taken away from this course will be paired with professional experience in a real-world studio scenario.
Aaron Collier is an Apple Certified Logic Trainer based in Toronto, Ontario with the past ten years dedicated to music creation. With seven years of touring experience on the road in Canada, the United States of America, China and Bermuda, he is truly classed as an internationally successful musician. In the studio and on stage, he has worked with numerous talented acts: Bruce Guthro, The Cutting Crew, Slowcoaster, Shelter with Thieves, Kite and Gordie Sampson. Aaron has worked as a sound designer/composer for Angels & Heroes Theatre Company in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has performed score composition for short films and television.
As an avid user of Logic Pro, on stage and in the studio, Collier’s classroom approach pairs street smarts with improvisation; allowing for vibrant classes, hands-on engaging experiences, open dialog and real world examples. His depth of certified knowledge makes him an excellent sounding board for students of all levels and disciplines. All of Aaron’s experiences and teaching abilities sum up in the form of a guarantee that his students gain a solid foundation of Logic Pro skills.
