Does anyone remember the last iTunes that alphabetized artists by # at the beginning? Or better yet, has Apple fixed this in iTunes 8?

Numbers are sorted to the bottom in iTunes 8.1, but you can specify default sorting for any given artist by adjusting the "Sort by" name.

E.g. if I want "2Raumwohnung" to appear at the very top of my artists list, I could add a sort name field that reads "Aaa".

Or if I want "The Beatles" to be sorted under "T" instead of under "B" (iTunes' ignores "the"), I could add "Beatles" as the "Sort name".
