So, I have a cheap Yamaha mixer I use to record in garageband.

I have 2 issues. When recording drums I can only record 4 tracks and I cannot get Garageband to recegnize the tracks individually for multi-track recording. It just says "Line 1 MONO", "Line 2 MONO", and "Line 1 STEREO" for my options.

To sum it up, I need a mixer that can do 8 mic tracks at once using the multi-track recording function in GB.

My number one priority is getting a mixer that will sync up with GB. I can do with my 4 mic tracks on my mixer for the time being if i could make it recognize them.

Any suggestions?

Make sure that you're running the most updated drivers, it could definitely be a driver issue. It seems that GB is only recognizing two of your 4 inputs. Not totally sure how to fix it, but I'd start with drivers and work my way forward from there.

unfortunatelly, i tried that. There was a driver that was mac/pc(which i downloaded) and another driver that was pc only. When i downloaded the new driver GB did recognize the mixer as "Yamaha Input" rather than "USB Codec". Still can only do 2 inputs in MONO.
