Hello,

I bet this has been throughly answered before somewhere...but I cannot find it.

SO I just bought a Yamaha keyboard (YPT-210) and a the Yamaha USB-MIDI Interface UX16 . But I am having trouble with it and garageband. I try to record what I am playing and it does not show up. I have it plugged in and when I bring up garageband it says that one imput is available.

I am also new to Mac's so I am def. confused and overwhelmed.

HELP! I do not know how to do anything...
QUOTE Thanks

did you install the driver for it? I dont think you really needed to buy the program. I have a Yamaha DGX-203 Portable Grande, and all I did was plug it in and install the driver for it.

Is there an option for "PC Mode"? If so, activate that and go to either "PC1" or "PC2"

Yeah, I did install the driver. Thats how garageband knows that there is a midi input .

It wasn't a program it was the cord.

this is my piano (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1179876644295)

and my cord (http://www.musiconmypc.co.uk/product...roducts_id/144)

I do not think that there is a PC mode on my keyboard. but then again I just got it so I cannot be 100% positive.

Aha! This sounds suspiciously similar to my problem (keyboard won't work with GB). I installed the (Eidorol PCR-30) drivers and everything. Suspect that I'll need a MIDI cable.
