I'm looking for software that can split an audio file into multiple tracks. Anybody have some recommendations?

I don't have an answer, but perhaps more specifics would help. Are you looking at trying to isolate frequency ranges? remove vocals? etc.

Not sure, but have you tried Audacity? I believe it might work for you. There is a split function in the Edit menu. Download it here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

EDIT: BTW, it's free

Audacity is good for that. Garage Band will do it too though
