I have a Sony SteadyShot that has a usb that can attach to my mac. I was wondering how do I import the footage from the digital 8 clip onto final cut. Is there a way to do it?

You need to use firewire. If the camera does not have it, then you need a convertion device to take the video out signal that converts it to firewire. Search the forums.
