I am just starting to learn IMovie 08 - have the Apple Training Series for ILife 08 - they supply a DVD full of mov clips to use in the lesson. The problem is that Imovie will not enable the pointer to select any movies, either from the DVD or desktop. I have one video clip from my camera, and that will import, but nothing else.

Any ideas?

Now I also have an Iphone, Ipod Touch and a MacBook, this is getting addictive! And I just changed over to a Mac Mini at the office, running Entourage through our Exchange Server. Wild!

Have tried importing the movie from the DVD? Also you can try drag and dropping the movie onto iMovie.

I can copy the .mov file from the dvd to desktop, but when I try to import the movie from Imovie, it is grayed out and not selectable. Another problem, when I dbl click on the .mov file on the desktop, only the sound plays, no video.
