Hello Everyone,

I've been struggling to get clips into iMovie. I was given files on a DVD made with an HD Sony camcorder. I finally got them converted into DV format so I could import into iMovie. The first clip I imported had these pillar boxes which squeezed the video and made everyone look squished in. I went through all the menus in iMovie and nothing could get rid of the pillar boxes. I closed the program and came back next day and the pillar boxes were gone and the video looked great! Unfortunately, any more clips I try to import are not so cooperative and I can not figure out why the first clip lost the pillar boxes and I can't achieve the same result with any more clips. Anyone know what is going on?

thanks!
