I was just wondering what's the fastest and the best burning program for my macbook? I already have toast 8 and it is taking a little longer than expected. I have switched over from a pc and my pc would burn my videos faster than my macbook. Please lmk. Thanks

The software has little to do with your burning speeds. It's your hardware that dictates the speed at which your discs will be burned. The reason your PC seems to be burning faster is due to the simple fact that your PC's burner is faster.

Now if you're talking about encoding/converting video before burning it, then that's a whole other issue.

I apoligize. I meant the encoding process is ridiculous. I have a movie only 750 mb and it took 3 hours just for it to finish encoding.

No it's not. Video encoding is a very intensive task, especially if you're encoding to/from a heavily compressed format like .H264. The only way to make it faster is to get a faster CPU/quad core. I remember the times on my Pentium 3 where I have to wait hours, even overnight, just to make some MPEG1 VCDs.

hey pika2000. I had a pc before my macbook and when i used nero, the whole burning and encoding process took about an hour. My macbook is ridiculous on encoding. i know im not the only person complaining about the time it takes because my family and friends have macbooks (not all just some) and they know what im talking about. The format was only avi.
