stopping letterboxing on iMovie

Hi, I have automatic letterboxing active on iMovie. When letterboxing is beeing done is there anyway to stop it? If so, is there any way to re-do it latter? And if automatic letterboxing is switched of how do I do it to my movies after importing the video form my miniDV camcorder?

Maybe you should specify whether your movie is a widescreen film or a standard 4:3 film before importing...
