Hey guys, sorry for not posting in a long time. I'm busy with school!

Anyway, I'm supposed to edit a documentary film for school.. but the CD given to me was the small one. I mean literally, the small disk. It can't be used in the MacBook, and when I put it in my desktop so I can access it in the network and copy it.. in the middle of the copying process, it cancels and says that the file cannot be read or written.

The file extension is .VRO and it's from a Sony Handycam. The file opens with VLC. I still don't know if it'll work with iMovie. Will it?

I'm really desperate on this and the deadline is tomorrow! Please help me guys!

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the file.

By the way, bugging people 51 minutes after your original post is ridiculous.

Xstep is right: iMovie won't be able to edit the file natively - you'll need to convert it to Mpeg2, Mpeg4 or DV format.

That's the problem with those MiniDVD cameras: You can't import the clips normally as a DV stream as you can from miniDV cameras...
