Upgrading from student license Final Cut to Pro license

I am currently a student and would like to buy Final Cut Studio 2 as a student license but I wanted to know that once I start using it for commercial use can I simply upgrade my license or will I have to pay the full price again? If it means paying full price for the student one then paying full price for the commercial one I might as well save up for the commercial one.
Thanks in advance

From my understanding you can not upgrade an academic license.Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, It's about learning to dance in the rain!
