A couple of my friends have windows media center on their pc's. I think it's really cool that they can record and watch tv on their pcs and save it all to the hard drive like a dvr.

Is there anything like this made for a mac, or do I just have to install vista on my mac and go from there?

this should be in the movies and video section, but to answer your question, you can use eyeTV by elgato to watch, record, and edit live tv...
