So, I ripped my copy of Kill Bill onto my mac using dvdbackup. the ripped version of the movie, played on my mac, has the subtitles with in the movie. When I then used dvd2onex to compress the ripped movie, and then burn it using toast, it did not have the subtitles when I played the movie on my dvd player.

I thought that I had checked the settings for subtitles. does anyone have a clue what I did wrong? Did I do anything wrong? Is there a way to insure I get the subtitles?...the movie is a bit more enjoyable with them...and sure..I have the original copy, but I'd rather just play a burned version...like I try to do with most my dvds....plus, I just like the software I have to work right..what's the point of burning a movie when you can't understand it at some points (japanses..I don't speak it)?

Did you play it with Quicktime or VLC?

I played it on my playstation 2..so everyone in the house could watch it.....when I played the plan ripped version....I just used dvd player....I didn't actually play the compressed version on my comp....I should've though of that......but it didn't show any subtitles after I burned it onto dvd and played it ont he play station 2.

I'd like to know more about the performance of subtitles off ripped/compressed DVDs as you try more... interesting

yeah..I'll try and keep it updated..hopefully I'll find a way to make it work right.

i'm having the same prob.

i compress using dvd2onex and there is subtitles when i play on the mac but when i burn using toast there is no subtitles :confused:
