Hi. I have just opened and began using this camera. I was told any Mini DV with Firewire will communicate with imovie. But iMovie is telling me "error communicating with camera".

Any advice?

Thank you in advance for any help.

P.S. My Mac is seeing the camera via firewire. Recognizes the model number. This is Mac os 10.4.7

Okay, now it appears to be working (?), and I can even control the camera from iMovie.

I captured the clip, but the audio seems to be missing. I remember reading someone else on here had this issue. Is there a way to resolve this and capture the audio? Thank you.

it could be caused by a loose firewire connection, make sure the connection is tight both on the computer and the camera.
