Watching movies in the browser

How do I watch Embedded video's? Such as the ones on http://bbc.co.uk, and http://nba.com.

I downloaded and installed Real Player, but it still says I have a plugin missing. Any ideas?

Which browser are you using?

If it is Firefox/Camino browser, type, about:plugins in the address bar and hit enter. It will show you whether the Real Player plugins are integrated.

If it is Safari, goto Help > Installed plugins, which will show you all the installed plugins.

In both cases, if the RP plugins are not listed, you have to check whether RP browser integration is correctly set in RP preferences.
Goto,
RealPlayer > Preferences.. > Internet Tab > Web Browser settings
Here the both items should be checked.

Hope this helped a bit.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox. I typed about:plugins and RealPlayer is not listed. According to the Browser settings of RealPlayer, both items are checked. What could be wrong?

May be when you installed RP it didn't create a symbolic link in your user library. To create a symbolic link follow the steps listed below.

1)Check for RP internet plugins
Right click on RealPlayer.app and select "Show Package Contents"
Goto Contents > MacOS
You should see a file called "RealPlayer Plugin.plugin"
If it is not there, you should re-install RP.

If the file is there, Copy and paste the following line in Terminal and replace XXX with your user name and press enter.

ln -s /Applications/RealPlayer.app/Contents/MacOS/RealPlayer\ Plugin.plugin /Users/XXX/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/

It should now create a symbolic link to "RealPlayer\ Plugin.plugin"

Restart your browser

That should do the trick.

Wow thanks! That seems to have gotten the plugin working. I can now watch video's at http://bbc.co.uk/sport

However, I still cant seem to be able to get these videos working:
http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/multime..._features.html

And also:
http://ebaumsworld.com/tags/sports-video/

Any idea how to get these working?
