Hi there,

I am compressing a promo movie for people to download from my website and I would like it to be available for both mac and PC users.

How common do you think it is for mac users to be able to view a windows media player .wmv file and how long do you think it would take to download 3MB with a broadband connection?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Emmy

Tricky:
Some wmv files work fine, others that use the latest wmv codec/format won't play at all.
Personally I try to avoid wmv files...

just use quicktime - both pc's and macs can manage that.

WMV sucks on OSX...Go ahead with Quicktime, it's compatible with mac and windows. A 3mb file on a broadband connection should load quite quickly.

yea another vote for using QT or worst case do it with real player. While not the best the client for the mac actually works not like WMP

Apple, think different

I used djoPlayer to view .wmv files on my Mac. Plays pretty much anything...
