vhs to dvd

am looking to utilise my time in front of my mac and convert vhs to dvd. im assuming my intel g5 is powerful enough? do i need additional hardware, also, is imovie good enough for this task, or a bit mateur?

You'll need an Analog --> Digital Converter, here's one to show what I'm talking about.

A G5 would honestly be overkill for such a project. It would make the whole process go a little faster, but I don't think it would be that big of a deal.

iMovie/iDVD would work perfectly.

I try to Command+Shift+/ when I can.
