Is it possible to make custom themes for iMovie or iDVD? Something possibly made in illustrator or the like.

Yes it is. I dont remember where I read on it, but it is possible. You cant go fully custom, thats what DVD Studio Pro is for.

You can make a custom background in PS or AI and import it into the project of iDVD.

Search Apples site for it, I know it can be done.
