Seems as if after the last update....despite closing every possible program down on my iMac giving it the very most possible RAM to work with....it just closes. Any assistance would be greatly appreciate

I'm not an iMovie guru but we'll probably need a bit more information. For starters:

1. Which Mac (specs, OS version, memory, free hard drive space etc.)?
2. Which version of iMovie?
3. When is it crashing (right after launch, opening large files, saving files, etc)? Not saying it's your fault is just that more detail is usually better.

Suggest running the application Randy suggested in your other post gotwicks. Maybe something you have picked up from a utility. Was it you running Genieo or Avast? if so have a read of this:-

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Hello Gentlemen!
Harry this started before the other issue I was having..and Thank GOD that has been fixed. No I'm not running GENIEO or AVAST.
The program opens fine...then after you start working with a project...just closes and gives a giant display message.
