I currently just bought a Wireless HDMI setup from Peerless and it works really really well. Just as good if there was a wired connection. However, it set me back $250.

Now I realize that Chromecast is out and available for just $35. Has anyone used chromecast to stream MKV HD movies to their TV without any problems?

I tried Apple TV but it wasn't as solid as I'd like the video to be.

You should be able to cast the MKV video on the Chrome cast by playing it in a browser. You also need to ensure that you have the Chrome cast extension. That way it'll cast whatever type of video you are watching as long as you are watching it in a browser window.
